ALPHATHOR SNOW
White EPDM roofs

AS A SOLUTION TO THE URBAN HEAT-ISLAND EFFECT
With its white EPDM variant, Alphathor provides a high-quality and sustainable solution to combat the urban heat-island effect.
The light white color has higher reflectivity than traditional black membranes, meaning it absorbs less solar heat. While black roofs can reach temperatures of up to 80°C in summer, roofs with white EPDM remain up to 50% cooler—heating up to 40°C less.
FOR MORE COMFORT
Alphathor Snow extends the lifespan of the roof, prevents overheating, and often eliminates the need for cooling in homes and buildings. In this way, the roofing system directly contributes to making cities more livable and enhancing the overall well-being of their residents.
FOR HIGHER SOLAR PANEL EFFICIENCY
White EPDM roofing also positively affects solar panel efficiency. For every degree above 25°C, solar panels lose approximately 0.5% efficiency. Thanks to heat reflection, solar cells on a white EPDM roof remain cooler, resulting in up to 15% higher output.
FOR A BETTER ENVIRONMENT
Black EPDM membranes obtain their color from carbon black, largely produced from fossil fuels. Alphathor EPDM contains no carbon black and contributes to better environmental protection and air quality.
